Who Are Homeward Hound?
Here at Sure4Pets, we go by the motto “it’s about the health of the pet, nothing more, nothing less”, which is why we’re excited to talk about our visit to Homeward Hound Dog Rescue, who deeply embody this.
Homeward Hound is a self-funded rescue centre for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds, located in Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. They aim to provide full care for each and every one of their four-legged friends up until they find their fur-ever home. They are especially committed to caring for pups with uncertain futures, whether they come from stray kennels or homes that can no longer care for them.
Being self-funded, Homeward Hound work off fundraisers to help cover costs for food, water, heating (including heat lamps), and vet bills. Therefore, we are on a mission to support them by donating food, blankets and more – which are especially crucial now that Winter is here.
Visiting Homeward Hound
We were lucky enough to take a visit to Homeward Hound to meet some of the incredible dogs currently being cared for. In preparation for our visit, we created treat bags filled with a selection of goodies, including all-natural treats, tins of dog food and other bits and bobs you can see below!
This visit was not only a chance to interact with the dogs (which we’d never pass up on a chance to!) but also a way to give back to the rescue centre, which clearly works tirelessly to provide a safe and loving environment for dogs in need. This visit reminded us of the importance of supporting local rescues like Homeward Hound, so they can continue to provide life-changing solutions to poorly pups across Rotherham and South Yorkshire.
How Can You Help?

This can be anything from wet and dry food to blankets, treats, and any other necessities, as they are always in demand and even a small amount can make a significant difference to the comfort and well-being of their pups.
