Valerian – Valeriana Officinalis (100g)

Valerian is an herb that is native to Europe and parts of Asia but also grows in North America. Valerian is a potent herb most commonly know for its use with dogs that suffer with anxiety due to loud noises like thunderstorms and fireworks, it’s often used to calm the nerves, decrease anxiety and aggression, its also said to help with the following too

  • Relieve tension
  • Restlessness
  • Pain
  • Separation anxiety
  • Reduce frequency and severity of seizures
  • ADHD
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Mild tremors
  • Muscle & joint pain
  • Stomach upset

Herbal Preperation

Add 1 table spoon of the herb to around 1/2 a litre of spring water ( NOT TAP WATER ) to a stainless steel pan and bring to the boil for 15-20 minutes ( YOU MAY NEED TO ADD MORE WATER )  then allow to cool allowing more infusion of the herb into the water. Once cooled, strain the herb and dispose of it, keep the liquid this will be given to your dog/cat and can be stored in a glass jar in the fridge for around 4 days.

9.1kg – 22.5kg                          8tbl’s 1-3 times per day
22.5kg – 45.5kg                       8-12tbl’s 1-3 times per day

45kg +                                      12tbl’s 1-3 times per day

500g – 2.5kg                      2tbl’s once per day

2.5kg – 4.5kg                     2-4tbl’s 1-2 times per day
