Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (With Mother) 500ml

Apple cider Vinegar in it’s raw and unpasteurised form has a number of health benefits for dogs, cats and horses.

What's in it?

Apple Cider Vinegar, other wise known as ACV,  is acidic it helps balance out pH levels and has antibacterial properties. ACV not only contains iron, potassium and magnesium but other essential vitamins and minerals.

-Plain apple cider vinegar or a vinegar-based herbal tincture can help keep a dog’s ears clean and healthy. Place a few drops in each ear and gently massage, or apply with a cotton swab. For a more medicinal ear drop, make or buy a cider vinegar tincture containing ear-friendly herbs like garlic and mullein blossoms.

The 'Mother of Vinegar' is a substance composed of a form of cellulose and acetic acid bacteria that develops during fermentation of the vinegar. It also contains friendly bacteria as well as other healthy nutrients. The Mother contains most of the important minerals, vitamins and amino acids that are released or created during the fermentation process.

"Commercially" produced vinegar, even one's supplied by various 'Health Shops,' more often than not, has the Mother removed to make a clear, shiny and consistent product that basically looks pleasing to the eye whilst on the supermarket shelf.

Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar :

When Taken Orally can help treat and prevent

  • Arthritis - Added to 1 meal per day - in water, it will help break down calcium deposits found around the joints as dogs get older which cause stiffness and discomfort. Continued use will make joints noticeably more flexible and less painful.
  • Flea repellent - ACV keeps the pH levels in the blood slightly acidic which fleas dislike intensely so it helps keep the little blighters away.
  • Skin and coat - if your dog has dry skin and/or a dull coat ACV will soften the skin and bring the fur back to a soft feel and shiny appearance.
  • Itchy skin - a common problem. Because it brings skin back to health, itchiness is significantly reduced.
  • Upset Stomach - add once a day to water if your dog has diarrhoea and repeat every day for a week to relieve constipation.
  • Tooth decay - there is evidence that the acidity levels in ACV helps to breakdown plaque and tartar on teeth.
  • Seasonal Allergies -Dogs with seasonal allergies will develop itchy feet (this is because histamines are released through their feet) in response to pollen exposure. Soaking the paws in full-strength or diluted ACV can help reduce the itching.
